[FUNWHOLE] Farmstead Cheese House F9049

Today, I’ll be reviewing the Funwhole F9049: Farmstead Cheese House. Like all sets in the Farm series, I built this one with my 5-year-old daughter. Let’s take a look at what Funwhole has prepared for us this time!

Informations

Brand: Funwhole
Numero: F9049
Parts: 876
Price: Purchased on Funwhole for $50
Theme: Farm

Instructions & Special Parts

The instructions are clear, especially when it comes to neatly organizing the LED cables. As for the special parts, the set includes pieces to hide the wires, 4 LEDs, and your choice of a battery pack or USB cable for power. There’s also a charming collection of kitchen accessories and two minifigures, including one wearing a beautifully detailed dress.

Step 1

The first step involves building the right side of the house, where plenty of cheese is stored! This section includes printed parts for the stone on the ground, adding a nice touch of realism.

Step 2

Next, we build the left side of the house, which features a cheese press, a large oven, and what looks like a mechanism—though its purpose isn’t clear just yet.

Step 3

This step completes what appears to be a kitchen, decorated with various chrome-like pieces. The back of the set opens up, making it perfect for play or to showcase to friends. We also add small details, like a sliced cheese piece with a knife.

Step 4

Here, we finish the diagonally designed roofs, which look fantastic and give the house a unique charm.

Step 5

We assemble the two yellow roofs, which fit perfectly into their designated spaces and can be removed effortlessly.

Step 6

In this step, we install the battery and add the final touches. These include a milk cart, a cheese sales stand, and a giant (eyeless?!) mouse stealing some cheese. The set also includes a small goat and a large golden cauldron, which sits on the earlier-built mechanism.

Final Result

The finished set looks incredible, whether displayed during the day or lit up at night. The LED lights for the cooking fire even flicker to mimic real flames, adding a magical touch.

Pros

  • Beautiful design
  • Printed and special parts
  • Great playability
  • Lights

Cons

  • Some parts can feel fragile during construction
  • Minifigures could be improved
  • Eyeless mouse (why?!)
  • The holes in the back wall are not filled in
